About
Hey there, I'm T Dawn

So what do I actually do? Pretty much anything that makes a sound. (Seriously, if it hums, buzzes or sings, I want to play with it.)
I wear a few hats:
- Songwriter and artist. I make music as Traces of Dawn.
- Radio host. I run BTD Radio, an indie station that plays independent artists and helps them get radio-ready.
- Sound designer. I build Dawn in Motion™ instruments: synths, soundscapes and little music machines that live right in your web browser.
The music
Songs come first. As Traces of Dawn I’ve been writing and performing since 2010: I played Music Strategies at Caesars Palace, was named Best Female Alternative Artist at the Indie Music Channel Awards (2013), won Best Alternative Song and Best Indie Song at the X-Pozing Music Awards (2014), and was nominated at the GRAMMY Museum in 2016 and at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards in 2018. Five of my tracks are in the sync catalog of Music of the Sea, for film, TV, games and advertising.
Behind the builds
Yes, I build the tools myself. I’m an A+ certified computer technician and I’ve worked in the computer industry for many years. I studied programming in college, I’ve built computers, and I’ve taught others how to use them. I write my own HTML and build websites from the ground up, including BTD Radio and sites for customers.
It all happens in my custom-built studio, Beyond the Dawn Studios, with a big collection of instruments and a lot of MIDI.
Why build instruments? Because sometimes the sound I hear in my head doesn't exist yet... so I make it. Every Dawn in Motion instrument starts small and keeps growing, one version at a time. What you can play here is just the beginning. (Stay tuned. Wink wink.)
Grab some headphones, pick an instrument and have fun. And if you make something cool, I'd love to hear about it!
